The Louisville Cardinals (affectionately referred to as "the Cards") are the student athletes representing the university. The are 13 women's and 10 men's teams that participate in the Big East Conference. The Cardinals are well known nationally as a power in men's basketball with two national championships and eight Final Four appearances, in addition to being the most profitable NCAA basketball program (with a net annual revenue of $18.5 million),  ranking 5th in NCAA Tournament wins, 9th in winning percentage, and 5th in annual attendance every year since 1984.
